I remember one episode of ‘Alias’ where Sidney’s fiance called her to tell her that (while drunk - seldom a good idea) he was OK with her hidden life of espionage and still wanted to get married. Well….SD-6 was monitoring the airwaves, traced the call to him, and he was history. Same thing happened (almost) to Will Smith in ‘Enemy of the State’. Perhaps The Blue Circle has similar capabilities. Annie and Warbucks need a secure means of communication.

What is ‘Alias’? A TV show?

Yes. Running from 2001 to 2006 starring Jennifer Garner and created by J J Abrams of ‘Lost’ and ‘Fringe’ and latest ‘Startrek’ the movie fame.

So, Annie, there’s this delightful invention, created by Alexander Graham Bell centuries ago, that let’s you talk to other people, like Daddy Warbucks, across great distances.

So, calling fake Daddy W wouldn’t have gotten her rescued?
