Why do I have the feeling that as this problem grows and spreads Maeder may find he’s “painted himself” into an awkward, difficult to get out of corner?
But perhaps I’m underating him. He must have done enough forward thinking to avoid the “how to get him out” sort of imbroglio Gould experienced in 1942 (Jacques), of Tracy in a deep caisson under a falling boulder - slipping down to crush him.
