Unfortunately, it’s been found, with dire consequences for the finders…

This story is good, I’m not crticizing. But I seem to recall that last month Agent Shuter had a “bugged” briefcase delivered to the Blue Circle in Denver -

Shuter: (Dec.10) “Twenty-first floor! The Executive Suites. AHA! Here is the lair of the Blue Circle …”

Since then, his focus has been diverted off to the map and the location of the site. He ran into a dead end. But problem is … he seems to have ignored or dropped that “important” follow up - on the Blue Circle, their “identities”, names, and so much more perhaps, through his briefcase “bug”. That could in time have led to more fruitful information.

It seems too, he should have had trusted eyes and hidden cameras on the elevators/exits to see WHO comes and goes from that Twenty-first floor. That’s the real bonanza!

Tut, tut, Shuter. You’re getting as bad as Dick Tracy! ;)

You know how it is - on Friday you discover the lair of the Blue Circle. On Monday you come back in - your e-mail box is full, some new world-ending plot is exposed over the weekend - you lose track! Months later someone asks “Whatever became of the Blue Circle?” and you can’t remember.

It wasn’t a full transmitter bug, only a GPS device. Although one does indeed wonder why the FBI can’t afford to use a real bug… perhaps Shuter didn’t want the go-between to get into TOO much trouble if the device was discovered.

He is also limited in the use of FBI resources to follow up on the Blue Circle’s lair, as too much activity there might alert any remaining moles that Shuter knows more than they realize.

If he knows where the BC hang out, and they don’t know he knows, he can safely monitor them at leisure. No need to go in guns abalazing. He cna wait and catch them read handed when the time is right.
