    Good Morning Everybody!

According to what the Tribune said, the arc will end with Warbucks wondering where Annie is. I agree with Marg, that is a very cruel way to bring this story to a close after 85 years.

Lonewolf - I owe you an apology, sir/ma’am. I did not mean to lead you to believe that I am a veteran. I regret to say that I am not. I spent the Viet Nam war years in college and seminary preparing for the ministry. The reason I was saying Thank You was for your beautiful avatar, which so well expresses my feelings of gratitude to the men and women who have served to make it possible for the rest of us to enjoy the freedoms we have, especially those outlined in the First Amendment.

And Thank You to all who have responded or will respond to my suggestion about contacting GoComics and expressing our hopes that Annie will be continued in some fashion online.

If you have not done so, please click “Contact Us” at the bottom of this page and let GoComics know how you feel.

He does what is best for his country free enterprise and trade are the ONLY thing that has ever led to long lasting peace

Yes sometimes he skirts the letter of the law to see that its spirit is fulfilled and he is an idealized capitalist a philanthropist and even fights corrupt businessmen as often as he does normal criminals, terrorists, spies, and saboteurs

Sure he probably should go to the proper authorities but that would be boring and is part of the willing suspension of disbelief of fiction and it’s not like he doesn’t have the skills to get the job done and as a private citizen can do the things the government can’t

He is also a self-made man, the name Warbucks as he started as a factory worker in a mutions plant while going to college at night, before working up to foreman where after making the company considerable money gave the employees raises and reinvested in the company instead of just keeping it for himself, yes he is a defense contractor so what, greed and patriotism/altruism aren’t mutually exclusive and can actually help each other.

The ability to think of future generation when calculating pragmatic utilitarianism is what separates us from the animals. The world is not the way it is because of thugs and psychopaths, corrupt businessmen/politicians (which contrary to fiction are the exception not the rule) but because most people are too stupid to know what is best for them the extreme left and extreme right get caught up in their ideals and refuse to acknowledge brutal facts of reality no real world understanding of the extreme complexities of politics, economics, technological logistics, and how they’re all interconnected in the long run. People want everything right here right now the whole world just handed to them on a silver platter think just by complaining something will happen without a tangible plan. Such a plan will require a lot of long, hard, boring work all day every day for generations.

Devonshade, you sound like a rabble-rouser want-to-be to me. Just because you don’t have what it takes to make it in a compatitive world, you want to rain on others’ parades.

Well sir, this is the wrong place to be. We are not rabble. If Warbucks is so evil, then what the h–l are you even doing here?

I repeat. we are not rabble. Go find another street corner!!!

    A question, and a statement:

First, what good does ot do to flag a spammer? They don/t seem tp gp away, just get a red flag under their sales pitch?

Second, re Devonshade: It lets us see just how arrogantly stupid people can be. A self-righteous bleeep ;such as this, (the kind one wipes) should be pitied…. And kept at a distance.

I can rant, too, Devonshade. Bring it on!

Guess Mr. Devonshade just dumped on the strip snd left? I was hoping he’d read whar I had to say about him and defend himself. Guess he got no defense, just good at being offensive.

Self-righteousness,pompousness, arrogance and superiority are balloons I love to pop, :-)))

From what I have read Annie will be around as part of digital media readers and graphic novels. Now the newspaper wants to stop printing the strip so Annie goes to the internet. Alot of printed materials publishers items I have gotten over the years are pushing to stop printing and move to the internet. A lot graphic novels I have enjoyed are about to stop and some of them right in the middle of the story after many novels.

Joe-Allen “Joe” Doty said, “I am a US Army and Vietnam Veteran. I arrived in Vietnam on February 15, 1967 and left there on February 13, 1968.”

That must have been a long and difficult year for you, Joe.

Shirttail Slim, I use YouTube Downloader…

    http://youtubedownload.altervista.org/

You can download YouTube videos and convert them if you want. I sometimes convert videos with music to mp3s with the downloader.

VistaBill, I have a dial-up modem that has a definate speed limit on it. It’s like driving to a store a few miles away, or walking there. I have to walk, so to speak.

One needs some sort of broadband hookup. I don’t, and i’m waiting til I move in Sept. to get DSL(?).

I suffered with dial-up for twelve years… Verizon offered me DSL for $17.95/month with a lifetime price guarantee in Feb. 2009. It was one of the best investments I ever made!
