COSTUMED CRIMEFIGHTERS ACADEMY – Online (for the duration of the emergency) Review Lesson #19: First Outing and “The Law.” A new partner’s first assignment generally should be a simple one to get their “feet wet” and accustomed to procedures. Our applicant, however, appears to be taking the approach of throwing the kid into the deep end of the pool (as it were), and seeing if she sinks or swims. If she were joining his crusade voluntarily, this might not be so bad, but she is still processing her injuries from the plane crash; one wrong move on our aspirant’s part could traumatize her even further and have her running for the nearest police station. This will not only blow his cover, but lead to his arrest – which is always a bad career move for an aspiring superhero. Of course, we are still following along to find out just how he has discovered the evil doings of the evildoers. We’re also a little worried about his statement that he is the law; our students are strictly taught the opposite, that the law is something to be worked with, not overruled at one’s whim. Granted, our profession can work outside the normal rules of engagement of law enforcement agencies, but being your own judge and jury tends not to set well with those putting themselves officially on the line for the general public, day after day…
