COSTUMED CRIMEFIGHTERS ACADEMY – Online (for the duration of the emergency) Review Lesson #44: The Golden Door (cont.). While the town itself maybe far too large for the “hick country” designation (see yesterday’s lesson), its officers certainly seem to be graduates of the same mail order school of deductive science that graduated Barney Fife. You have a huge frieght yard in town, and NO ONE stops to think, Hey – what if the kid hops a freight car? We are surprised the Police Chief did not share such intelligence with his officers, but in fairness he may have been busy trying to keep the Feds from two countries happy. Some might also argue that “hopping” a freight car might not have occurred to anyone, or dismissed such a tactic as a Great Depression stunt one sees more in movies and television than actual use. Again, this is where our Class of ‘24 graduate’s long history of finding the “golden door” of escape works to her advantage. Serendipity also seems to be working in her favor, as during her time with The Phantom Commando her professional attired covered up her tell-tale red mop of curls. Of course, had the Feds in D.C. recognized her, they might have backed off, knowing who she is the ward of – and the work he sometimes does for them…
