This was one of the better storylines – little did we know that the strip was in trouble and losing papers. Tribune let’s Mike Curtis play with Annie and Company (He’s doing the 100th Anniversary storyline in the Summer of 2024) over in DICK TRACY, but perhaps like Hearst took a look at Flash Gordon and revived it, the Trib might revive “Annie”…but then Tribune isn’t what it was. (and I wasn’t happy when they wrote out Amelia shortly after this storyline – but then she served much the same purpose Joe Corntasle did on the Radio Show)
