Ruth's mom tells the kids, "That was your father, Gene! He's on his way to get you." Ruth comes out of the room. Her mom asks, "So, you got a lot of studying done?" Ruth says, "Sure." Gene walks out, with a fake, forced grin on his face. Gene walks by nervously. Ruth's mom gets suspectious.
