Semi-long story: back in high school my sister was in marching band. For one competition, they went to Reno, NV & my family got to tag along (my parents as chaperones, my baby sister & myself as fans/supporters). After the competition, the parents decided to go visit the Donner Party Memorial for recreation. Bussed over there & explored. One parent chimed “We should have a reenactment”, to which my dad replied, “Great! Who wants to be the main course?!” They didn’t speak to him the rest of the trip.
