Protected by Bush Security!Behind the warehouse where I work, across a side street and next to another business development, lies an abandoned house nearly taken over by greenery. You have to walk up to a hole in the bushes to even see it’s there. Inside you can see the floors rotted out. I wouldn’t want to step inside. I’ve already stepped on one nail in my life; that’s plenty.
The kid can’t see past the overgrowth to the house. The next two panels show just how much there is to cut down before you can see the house. Gene will be cutting a while, esp. if that sickle is all he has. I thought it was funny…
we were all young once. we had to hack out our future somehow. it wasn’t easy but we had to start somewhere. this is their somewhere. good luck gene, marylou and meg. travel safe. god speed. dd
PS. I think/hope this marriage is doomed. Gene is like 17, his girlfriend already has a kid, and said girlfriend is a passive-aggressive manipulating weirdo. That whole business with the “wedding dowry” was inexcusable.

Any guesses on how many cars on blocks will show up?

This must appeal to a certain portion of the readers, but does absolutely nothing for me. Not even humorous.

It’s a fixer-upper. Perfect for a first time home owner.

Looks like the back yard of our first “fixer-upper” Except ours was blackberry-strangled alders!

With a lot of work, that house could be beautiful.

The house is there. Gene showed it to Arlo and Janis the week of August 29 (but the bushes weren’t near so tall).

Agreed, JP Steve. That was beautifully put, dopeydan!

Yet another A & J I don’t get.
