…my cats would sniff at the back door, and if they didn’t like the weather out back, they’d go to the front door and try there…and of course I’d cater to them…
Every door is the wrong door where a cat’s concerned. ‘The door into summer’ is a terrific SF book by Robert Heinlein (http://www.sfsite.com/11a/dis92.htm), who was obviously a Cat Person.
It has been below zero in the mornings here and the cats sit by the door waiting to go out. They go out for about 5 seconds and come back in faster than they went out.

I’m really lost on this one! In what classic does a kitty cat want to go out?

We had a cat we had to open the door for to go out. But he knew how to turn the knob on the door to open it and come back in. Cats are smart that way.
