should stagger plant them two weeks apart otherwise they all come to fruit at once (still reeling from the Great Zuchinni Glut of 2012)

Is it zucchini? One would be enough, then – a dozen means hundreds and hundreds of squashes.

Offices are always full of people trying to give away squash (squashes?) to their coworkers.

I don’t know, squash can be fickle, last year we had a huge drought here in michigan and of the 20 or so squash plants we had planted, I think we harvested maybe 10 or 12 full size squash by the end of the summer. The year before that, however, 10 plants yielded us dozens of squash for weeks on end, LOL. It really just depends on the weather where you are as we depend solely on mother nature for our gardens!

If you plant too many Zucchini your neighbors lock their doors when you arrive with three foot long squash for them.

Happy to receive any and all over-produced veggies!! Love me some homegrown stuff – esp., tomatoes and onions!!

oh this can’t end well. Can’t wait til August to see the bumper crop.

Last year (2012) the Topsfield Fair (Massachusetts) showed a real 2009 pound squash.

It was a world record. That is a lot of squash!

The whiteflies got all of mine last year. I love to stuff zucchini with italian sausage, marinara, top with mozzerella…yum.

The drought was bad here too. I had cucumber out, and 2 plants got me maybe a dozen edible (some were too bitter with the heat) before the weather turned and we had to grab what we could to pickle. I’m hoping all the cool this spring will carry over to a bummer harvest, because I love to CAN. .How does one preserve squash anyway?

Has anyone ever been to Maggiano’s? They most certainly know what to do with zucchini :)

And not one comment about Janis being on to Arlo. One thing I love about them – they know all the other’s tricks, yet they still love to play.
