I suppose Arlo and Janis have only provided emotional support. We can’t mention the yacht Gus gave Arlo either.

Why are drinking coffee or whatever outside? It’s winter.

A&J hardly mentioned they even had a child for years in the strip. new readers in the last two years likely wouldn’t have known they did. they were more interested in their iPhones and the cat. they haven’t shown any interest in the kid, his family or the boat they got so why the interest now? why are they drinking coffee outside where they have to wear coats???

I still think that Janis’s reaction speaks about a potential shift in the comic where A & J will somehow buy or part own the restaurant (and likely live on the boat), bringing all the major characters in the same vicinity. To me, as Janis’s reaction gets more vehement, it is (again to my manner of thinking) a signal that a dramatic turn is afoot in the comic.

I agree. I love Janis but she can’t complain when she didn’t offer them a house or a place to work.

Janis should get some hobbies of her own and butt out of her kid’s life. No wonder Gene doesn’t share more with her.
