Might want to try accompanying Janis on her walks, for a start, Arlo. After all, if it works wonders for how HER clothes fit….

What it takes, Arlo, is two years in the gym.

Some people, like me, are like “Pig Pen” in Peanuts, we get rumpled and dirty walking through snow drifts. I am now retired and I look it. After 25+ years of being an engineer trying to look “professional” in dirty, dusty, hot Florida job sites, I’ve gone jeans and teeshirts. I once led an attorney on a field trip through a swamp. We ruined at least $2000 worth of shoes and clothes, including a very nice pair of Italian alligator shoes. (He could afford it though.)

Arlo is too used to wearing lose, comfortable clothing.

I agree totally (usually I rock jeans and tees, myself). But here, it is Arlo saying for himself that he’d like something different. It’s really amazing, the difference FEELING fit and “un-rumpled” without clothes can make, on how you feel IN clothes. (Did I mention I ROCK those jeans and tshirts?)

I thought what you wrote was offensive until I realized that it works both ways. And that is doubly offensive.

Look on the bright side Arlo. At least you’re not like the Grinch with a heart two sizes too small.

Key feature in fashion: comfort. I called my brother to ask what he was wearing to our parents BBO. He said “clean tee shirt,”. I said, “ok, I’ll dress up, too!” We are in out 60s. I’m a married woman, he’s a married man. We’ve always been this way. There’s no changing it. And we love our fashion sense!

I couldn’t be a model, but I can be a horrible example.

Well, if all you care about is how the body looks, then you deserve what you get.…and, as Flossie Mudduck said, it goes both ways.

As long as you can see your toes, what’s the problem?…

…and the model in the ad will go home to his wife Bruce and live happily ever after.
