Arlo and I both follow Newton’s laws. At rest, stay at rest. In motion, stay in motion.

Honey-do jobs are the worst. They are the primary reason why I haven’t retired.

The Universal Wifely Complaint. Two known wifely subterfuges; make him think it is his idea or make him believe the reward will be worth it.

Certain beds are easier to start than others

My wife spent $90 on strawberry plants and potting soil yesterday. We got all 60 of them potted. Having them potted and up off the ground really cuts down on the slugs.

I have the same problem myself. There has to be some impetus to get me started, but then it is hard to stop. Like pulling weeds – don’t really want to do that, but once started I keep telling myself: just one more, just one more, etc..

    1) I suggest a project I want to do and 2) She does all in her power to stop me (never figured out why). 3) I get started and 4) She complains the whole time that my attention to detail, proper prep, etc., is making it take far harder than it need be, and take too long. 5) I finish and 6) She raves about how great I did.

You’d think that after 35 years she’d have figured it out, and would just jump from step 1 to step 6.

Retirement I was about doing what you want not what somebody else wants when you want to do it

This is why I try to avoid starting…fear I’ll work myself to death.
