Football metaphors have always alluded me. I am in the less than 1% of the US population who cannot seem to “get into” football. Not sure why. I have tried to figure out how to get it to be interesting for me, but have never succeeded. I have watched a lot of high school football games too, but really was there to support and be excited about my kids when they were in marching band.
My Google-eyed GF just informed me there really is a “wildcat formation”, though it seems not to involve either lynxes, bobcats, or Florida panthers. (Hi, Pipe Tobacco. I guess you and I are both that “less than 1%”.)

That got Ludie’s attention! The old throw-the-cat-in-the-bag play.

This strip is to life what Dilbert is to office work.

Then when they catch on and think they got if figured out…that’s when you slip a different critter into the bag!

With those red eyes, Ludwig must be Arlo’s familiar – all of which means that Arlo must be burned at the stake.

Ludwig’s thinking, “That poor wildcat.”

I had never noticed before. Has Luddie always had red eyes? Or are they due to a hangover?

Actually, I call that wildcat cruelty.

Wonder what would happen if Arlo “Mansplained” that play to Janis?

What kinda a cat? We talking about a Bobcat or Lynx? Wouldn’t be too many players left for the 4 quarter Hail Mary.
