I really like that old curmudgeon!

The man understands.

He hasn’t always said that, such as when Mary Lou was expecting.

Well, he changed his mind, didn’t he, so he wants to forget he was ever that person, doesn’t he???

Yay, Navy!

Gus is my 2nd favorite recurring character (next to Meg). I bet he understands the stock market plenty, just prefers the control of one’s investment you get thru real estate. And despite his temper when Mary Lou was pregnant, he is proud of his daughter and granddaughter. And proud of Gene. But wait…doesn’t ML have a sister?

I bet Gus had an exemplary Naval career and never talks about the close calls or the accolades.

I wonder about the recent focus on Gus. Is Jimmy J laying the groundwork for something?

Has MaryLou’s mother ever been discussed?

Doing what a proud father would do.

Life is all about the Benjamins.

And, cold beer.

I once asked my dad “what has been your greatest success in life?” Without hesitation he replied, “You and your sister! Nothing else has come close to that.”

Gotta love Gus. But Gus should be proud of grandchild and Gene in addition to Mary Lou.

Proper priorities.

Gus invested his capital and labor to add value to something others desired. He no longer has to invested labor and has been repaid for his initial capital investment many times over.

Others do the same thing on a much larger scale and are often despised, no matter what good they have done along the way.

I love the whole Gus storyline and how he feels about Mary Lou and Meg. I just love it.

Well, this explains why Gene is not worried about his business being practical. They are free to run it as a hobby.
