It was never of interest to me. However the politics and the money taken from me to help a multi-millionaire ball team is robbery. And also terrible injuries that should not be happening do encompass my interest.
I’ve never been a big fan of baseball as a spectator sport. Really liked playing it though. I do enjoy the overall experience of going to a game – the day with friends, the sunshine, the cheering of the crowd, the crack of the bat, the hot dogs, beer and popcorn.
I watched a bit of the Royals game last night. Every time the camera showed the crowd there was at least one person with his/her telephone in front of their face.
Neither husband nor I are interested in sports. Having said that, he did go to two Yankees World Series games (box seats) back when the Yankees almost always went to the World Series. (His dad and him went with someone who schmoozing his dad for business and the fellow’s son.)
One time when he was in graduate school a group of the guys were going to a Mets game (cheaper to get to – no expensive bridge to take as there is to the Bronx and the Yankees) and he decided to go and talked me into coming along. I should have been suspicious when he said the tickets were only $3. Have I mentioned that I am afraid of heights? If he did not have a friend who was tall and wide and walked in front of me on the way down, I might still be up there now.

I don’t care much for pro ball but college ball is great. Especially when you live in a town with a good team.

It looks to me as if Janis might also have some money on the game.
