One suggestion is that cats never see us doing any serious hunting, so they try to teach us the way they teach kittens. We are just to dim-witted to learn.

Jimmy must be on vacation this week. Or has someone else already mentioned that? I haven’t been able to check in much this week due to work.

When my cat does this, I take their “kill” and put it in something while they watch… but I don’t dispose of it in front of her, lest she STOPS killing mice because I’m an ingrate ;-)

Actually, I think Janis nailed it. Luddy likes to see her reaction. :)

We used to have a cat who would leave four or five mice piled on the doormat for me to find when I got home from work. Never birds, but she was a mouser par excellence!

The barn cats eat what they catch. Though I do find an occasional head, leg or tail lying around.

Actual research on cat behavior says the training-the-kittens idea is correct.

If Janis is serious about a tan (and it would drive Arlo and the guys in the neighborhood wild) is wear her swim suit when she gardens. Sure would keep him engaged.

We had a day that frequently brought my wife live mice. Another brought prey( mice, lizards, birds) to the old cat who would promptly devour the critter right there on the couch if we didn’t get there fast enough.

I have always found it amusing that a woman will wax her bikini line and tear hair out by the roots, but will scream when she sees a mouse…

While cats make the effort to bring dead animals to feed the staff, dogs just developed a muscle around their eyes that allows them as adult to give human the ‘puppy eye’ and make them do whatever they want. Why is it that the cat is the one with the bad reputation? I mean my dog is…. ooooh, such nice puppy eyes…

I told my kitty not to surprise me with that anymore & she complied! I loved her so much!
