My cat isnt glad for getting dripped either.

This reminds me, have to give flea drops to my lovely couple as well….that will be a struggle….

My corgi, from anywhere in the house, can hear when I unwrap a stick of butter; he’s at my side before I can place the stick in the butter dish. He loves butter paper.

One of the myriad of reasons I switched to Seresto collars for all my pets. They think they’re getting “new clothes” when we get new ones.

Cats actually have better hearing than humans or dogs. They can hear a tuna can being opened three houses away.

I hate those topical things.

I buy the largest size and 1 ml syringes (no needle). It works out simply, 0.1 ml per kg of dog weight, so I can do all three dogs from one vial. Syringes are about 10 cents each and a box of 100 should last most of a decade.

I just take the box out of the cupboard and I watch the cat leave, they just know when I have one in my hand even if I hide it, oh what fun!

That’s topical flea medicine, not a pill. My cats hate it. I have to open it up in another room and sneak up on them, one by one.But there is a trick to giving a cat a pill — it takes two people. Scruff them, open mouth, toss it in their throat past the base of the tongue (so they can’t spit it out), then hold the mouth closed and stroke downward from chin to throat to make them swallow.I have a beef with the veterinary pharma companies — why is Clavamox bubble-gum flavored? Why not, say, liver or chicken?

Amazing how they can detect that.

When it comes to opening Fr*ntl*ne or other flea control products (which is what Janice is opening), it’s always a gamble whether it will crack open as advertised. Open with scissors but do it v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y to minimize sound. Then move in for the treatment, making sure you don’t apply it to a spot the cat will lick at later.

Our 130 pound Akita has recently become allergic to the grasses on our ranch and needs a monthly shot. When he hears the glass lid on the cotton jar make the slightest ‘ting’ he makes himself as small as possible and hides. He doesn’t know that wherever he hides we can see his ears sticking up listening for us.

I’ve never had a problem dripping that onto my cats’ backs. They give me a dirty look and walk away, even the one who is terrified of me unless I am lying on the bed.

Heck, one cat acts like I got the flea stuff in her eyes and the other one, starts scratching, as if saying. Hey! It’s not working. Good acting!

Or “happy gas”.

So, Pud, my cat, suckered me into scratching his neck RIGHT AFTER I applied the anti-flea-juice.

Now I understand WHY he hates it so much.

As soon as my FINGERS touched his neck, I could TASTE that stuff, and it was NASTY. I can only imagine what it must taste like for him.

Mind you, he still gets it.

But I understand now.
