I think the problem is that her stomach is carrying more than its share of weight.

Women bear the children and are supposed to make it look easy. Men have no excuse.

Aw, do you need a confidence booster, Janis? Saunter out into the kitchen with a twisty smile on your face. Your stomach will soon receive all the attention it deserves. I promise!

My take on this is that she thinks her butt and hips are too big (panel 2). Therefore her flat stomach isn’t accounting for the weight she sees on the scales!
