What does a nosebleed have to do with Presidents’ Day?

At least he kept it off his shirt…

Free speech isn’t free of consequences. For most people.

I had a serious problem with nose bleeds as a kid, but only get them now when it’s really dry inside. The rumble in the background is an industrial-grade humidifier.

What’s this in aid of?

So, the implication is that Arlo got punched relating to something that he said? Isn’t that sweet. I’m feeling the unity.

I’m guessing it’s a dry winter air nosebleed…. but I don’t get the President’s Day reference …

I used to get them all the time, but hardly ever since I quit smoking.

According to EMTs here, we’ve always done it wrong. They recommend tipping your head forward so the blood doesn’t go down your throat. Personally, and I am not a vampire, I have never had trouble swallowing my blood.

What I got is that President’s Day led to a “discussion” about Presidents, which led to a bit of knuckle diplomacy…

I have a place on my septum which is easily irritated then it bleeds. I put Vaseline in my nose to lessen the chance of a nose bleed. It works most of the time. Be well my friends.

So, having read this strip since it’s beginning and not recalling Arlo ever getting violent, I wonder which president’s supporters would throw the first and likley only punch.

I prefer a backstory where he got in a fight with several presidents.

I don’t know. Kinda looks like mark twain to me.

I once got into an argument with a senatorial candidate. He asked me to “step outside.” His opponent won and is worse than him. Luckily , we don’t have a senators’ day.

President Calvin Coolidge has been way underrated.

Maybe while Arlo was out walking he imagined Janis wearing a Japanese schoolgirl uniform.

It looks and reads to me that no one knows the point of this strip today – which isn’t unusual.

What does this have to do with Presidents Day?

Half the time I don’t get this comic. Today is one of those days.

When I was a State Employee, We had around 13 to 14 Holidays, one being Robert E. Lee’s Birthday. Also had Confederate Memorial Day. When Martin Luther King Day was added, I was thinking oh great another Holiday to take. State combined Martin Luther King’s Birthday with Robert E. Lee’s Birthday, so we never really got another day.

Must have stuck his nose into a discussion where his opinion was not wanted.

My favorite President in my lifetime is Eisenhower.

Never discuss politics with idiots – so that means don’t talk to anybody these days…

my father taught me never to talk to friends or family about politics. These days everyone fights about it. Can’t get away from it with twitter, facebook and even the comics. Sheesh
