That should be on the marriage questionaire. Early riser or groggy til noon? Sleep light with sheets only or pile blankets until bed caves in? Dinner at 5 or dine at 8? I don’t think my spouse and I agree on much. lol
I’m up before 6, read my comics, read comments and occasionally make one, work on my daily “Wordscapes” puzzle, then the paper. Sometimes forward Marmaduke to my grandson. That’s my early morning. In the Summer, I’m out fishing at 6.
I learned long ago you’re either a morning person or a night owl and you can’t change. I rarely see sunrises but love the still of a peaceful early morning.
The only times my ex-wife saw a sunrise is if we stayed up all night partying. Then she slept till mid afternoon and was hung over the rest of the day. Fun times!! :)
Hubby and I are both early risers; the alarm is set for 5:00 so we can get up, have our cup of coffee, and then go for a morning walk before starting the rest of the day.As we have been getting older, a bit more restless, and sharing our bed with a cat who meows in protest when one of us rolls over, we have been getting up a little after 4:00 a.m. The flip side of this, is we fall asleep watching TV by about 8:00 p.m.
My wife has a framed small needlepoint on her dresser that reads, “If God had wanted us to see the sunrise, he’d have scheduled it later in the day.” If you can see the little picture on my avatar, it’s us on our dock but facing due west watching the sunset. She’s never seen the one facing east, and after 40+ years I’ve never been able to convince her it’s prettier than the sunset.
My wife has a sleep shirt that says, “Sometimes I wakeup Grumpy. Sometimes I let him sleep in.”I got one like it for my cousin, but her’s says “Sometimes I wakeup Grumpy. Sometimes I let her sleep in.” Her wife gets a laugh every time she sees it.
My wife has never been an early riser. It took getting used to. On the other hand when I’m up at 5:00am she likes being able to stretch out on the bed until 7:30. Breakfast and tea are waiting for her.
I generally go to bed at midnight, whether or not I take a pre nap in front of the tv. Since retiring, my wife sleeps a very abstract schedule; some during the day, some at night, and the hours vary.
Mom was a morning person; Dad was a night person. Many the times dad and I would be watching TV late at night (on non-school nights) while mom and sisters were asleep. When the family went to the drive-in movies mom was in the front for the first movie and I was in back with sisters. After first movie ended mom and I (I was in pre and early teens) would switch seats and she and sisters would go to sleep while dad and I watched movie.
Right now it is 3 am and husband and I are having snack (our 3rd meal of the day) before going to sleep for the night.

So last night’s rain check turned into a morning sunrise dalliance?

For some reason Arlo likes when the blue of the night meets the gold of the day all to himself.

I do love mornings ! Up at 0355 each day. Out side at sunrise to greet the sun.

At my latitude, lately it’s been too cold to coffee outside. Even at sunset.

Well, she did say ‘might’. That’s not exactly a commitment.

I wake up naturally every day and feel pretty good. Sometimes at 5 a.m, other times 7 a.m. If you wake up by an alarm you did not get enough sleep.
