This is true. People love to be thanked for something. I have taken to thanking the people who work in highway rest areas when I travel. It isn’t frequent, but when I do get on a road trip, 2-5 times a year, those places are a godsend. I thank the people cleaning the place, including in the restrooms, for doing their jobs. Every last one has acknowledged me in return. It meant something to them because it (almost) never happens. I’m no saint. I just thought that, well, what Aunty said. So I decided to do it. And highway rest stop attendants seemed like a good place to start.
Random acts of kindness no matter how small is a good way to do this. Something as nice as thanking the people who bag your groceries or offering someone a cart at places like Aldi where the carts require a quarter deposit for starters. There’s a million more ways but those are common places that anyone could “pay it forward”.
I always smile and add a “hello” or a “hi” when I meet anyone on the street or in a store. It costs nothing to be pleasant to a stranger…and may just make their day a bit better !!!

The only person Trump can make happy is himself and his delusional followers.
