I tried to tie both of my shoes at the same time. Failed miserably.

That’s easy.

But you can’t remember to put the “d” on and?

My sister does that a lot.

I am worse than most people when it comes to following verbal instructions.

If they are written down or I see the task done or am mentored through the task, I get it immediately.

But when words come at me, they are forgotten before the sound bearing them bounces off the wall behind me.

I’m the kind of person who, when getting verbal directions, is drawing a map at the same time. In school, my class notes were a combination of word fragments and hieroglyphics that only I could understand.

For this reason, I write everything down. I am under no illusion that I can remember it later. Putting things on a calendar is a basic survival skill for me.

I’ve already forgotten what you were saying, Aunty, though I’m not sure that’s the same thing…

I’m sure that takes great deal of effort on your part.

Aunty, guys do that all the time, it comes naturally to them. I guarantee you, your husband could give you lessons.
