What’d you do now, Aunty??
That’s a fair point. It’s best to do it someplace where a fire is expected and controllable. You don’t want anyone to be suspicious, right?
That’s what I miss about living in a city where outdoor burning is prohibited.
My office has a shred bin, so I no longer have to burn my old bills, bank statements and anything else an identity thief would go dumpster diving for.
Ah, yes, a variation on the old saw: “If at first you don’t succeed. . .destroy all evidence that you tried.” Like the old Hitchcock episode where the wife broiled the leg-o-lamb. . .
We burn every Friday evening with friends, add maybe hotchoc/Bailey’s or a fine scotch, good cigar, lots of laughs. Good times : )
Body disposal is harder than you think: I threw her ashes in the river and they still found me.
The smell of burning rubber.
“@$$ to ashes, dust to dust…”

But then you have witnesses.
When I was in scouts and then a scout leader campfires were always something special.
A friend will help you move. A good friend will help you…..
After the fire dies down, you still have to rake the Bones out of the ashes and dissolve them in acid. It takes about 2 days.
But, you have to be careful. Sulfuric acid can cause third-degree burns.
