My cats must be expert cleaners, since they move all sorts of things to less obvious places.

Always leave your vacuum out, people will think you were getting ready to clean up.

What seems obvious to you may not seem obvious to others.

What seems clean to you may not seem clean to others.

I made a sign for the door of the room which is supposed to be a guests room and my sewing and ironing chamber. Sign says: “Chaos-buffer-zone” and I drew an embarrassed looking mouse on it as well.

Basic law of thermodynamics: in order for something to get clean, something else must get dirty.

Aunty remember, there is a place for everything and everything belongs in its place. There is even a place for you Aunty, we just haven’t been able to develop a delivery vehicle that will get you to your place in the Universe.

Cleaning house before the kids are grown is like shoveling the sidewalk before the blizzard is over.

We just end up re- arranging the stuff we don’t want to throw out but don’t know what else to do with (donation/sale quality not there but still together enough to be useful should the need EVER arise).

It’s helpful to have a lot of closet space.

In the army they told us to “square your sh*t away”. Doesn’t matter if it’s a pile of random crap, just make it square – or at least rectangular – and it’ll look 100% better.

I recently did some “spring cleaning.” I got a new computer and it is Windows 11 (It’s OK). However my scanner and one of my monitors are no longer compatible. This is a sad commentary on what a pack rat I am when it comes to electronics: Microsoft usually supports a couple of Operating Systems back with at least drivers. I’m sure I bought these devices since I moved on from Windows 98.

Surprisingly, the printer I got when I was still using XP still works. I don’t know if I need to thank HP or Microsoft for that.

So I donated the stuff to Goodwill with the caveat: does not work with Windows 11. If someone wants to buy them for $10 or $15 and use it for the next two years, they are welcome to it.

I also got rid of a number of connectors some of which hadn’t fit anything made past 1998. This also included power cords that can still be used, but I don’t need a dozen of them.

I’m still using my printer that I bought along with my Windows 98SE in 2000. Now and then I need to buy refills for printing, but it still works! It’s HP, DeskJet 810C. As long as my Windows 7 computer still works for what I need, it’s staying!!!
