I remember one time as a kid I would get upset and lock myself into my room, the worst thing that happened was that the lock was taken out, but my father, while taking it out accidentally broke the lock so the door would never lock again. I was naturally quite upset about it the next chance I got I removed the broken lock from my door and switched the locks from the spare bedroom. Afterward an agreement was made between me an my parents, no more lockless doors. I don’t think the knew I switched locks.
