There was a proto-Grog character in one Sunday strip. As Peter describes evolution, a clump of seaweed washes up and (in time with Peter’s somewhat fanciful description) grows a brain and walks upright. The reason I don’t think he’s Grog is that he spoke as well as the other characters.After all that, I found it interesting that Hart would deny evolution. After all, it happened right in his strip!
