I don’t think they can kill themselves willfully. Their makers wouldn’t have wanted that in the new human species they synthesized to live in such a crap sack world of Hot House Earth. (Their “makers” being genticists in a last ditch attempt to make sure humanity survives and will eventually rediscover everything, via memory implants, of their past.
