Kids had a drake and hen. Easter gift from a relative. (Gee thanks…) The hen eventually made a nest, laid ten eggs. But the drake was always “after” her. She stayed on the nest 24/7 it seemed. When the chicks hatched we had to keep a place where the chicks and mom could be safe. A chicken wire fence where the chicks could pass but dad could not. Duck farming wasn’t for us and we donated them to a prison honor farm.
