Chonies? In my family, they were called "gotchies’. As in, “Mom, have you seen my gotchies?” From downstairs: “Try looking in your underwear drawer!”

Shouldn’t it be Baldo with the over sized Chonies?

Funny! I got what chonies was immediately, but….I’d think that Cruz would’ve noticed the difference when he tried to fit into Baldo’s chonies. Like fitting a cantaloupe into an athletic sock (no offense Cruz). Funny scenario and thanks for teaching me some Spanish slang. I am bilingual tho’, I speak Texan and English.

    chonies — “Underwear. Undies. BVD’s.”

    Per Urban Dictionary:

The only way this makes any sense to me is if “sharing” chonies means “wearing the same pair at the same time.” Otherwise, why would Cruz be indicating that they’re loose? At least, that’s how I interpret the action. Am I supposed to see him indicating they’re too tight (i.e. he’s wearing Baldo’s chonies by mistake)? If they’re too loose because that pair has been worn too long, well, they ARE camping, and it doesn’t require them to have shared at all…

I’m willing to believe the fault is in my understanding rather than in the cartoon, but can anyone enlighten me?

Emjaycee – must be a version of gotgis (is pronounced as in “is”). That is a yiddish term for underwear, with an implication of old worn underwear.
