I’m suprised someone as intelligent as she pretends to be would talk ‘baby talk’ to the baby instead of adult english that pediatricians advise.

AliCom: I usually do, but I have found that irritable babies can be quieted by speaking, in an adult tone, to them in Grundoonese (from Grundoon, the woodchuck pup in Pogo who only spoke in consonants). They generally hush, look puzzled because even they know something is not quite right, and then laugh.

And here I thought all you need to do was talk intelligently in 4 letters or less.
