I have a friend who is an aerospace engineer who told me that flying cars won’t be anything possible in our lifetime due to logistics. It’s hard enough for overworked air traffic controllers to manage airplanes, but to throw a few million cars in the mix would be horrible with our current technologies.
Working at a car museum may be a good choice for Baldo in the future. LeMay—-America’s Car Museum in Tacoma, WA was built in 2012 in Tacoma, WA (south of Seattle).
I read an article that said cars will not fly until all car accidents are prevented. Once the self driving cars are perfected that may be possible. But, like you guys said there is the AI problem.
TEMPLO S.U.D.: New models don’t come out until September..dragonmaster77: The main problem (other than Night-Gaunt’s license issue) is that the wing and tail either had to be left at the airport or towed as a trailer through traffic. Because it only had three wheels, the Waterman Aerobile was licensed as a motorcycle.
I found a 56 chevy bel air in a junk yard for $120 bucks, complete, no engine and some one had cut a hole in the hood. took me almost 2 years to restore. you seem to be in so cal so rust should not be a big problem.
I agree with the FAA on the license issue. Flying cars will need much the same infrastructure as regular light aircraft and increase congestion. Even car/helicopters wouldn’t ease the congestion problem. I don’t think the personal flying car will arrive in the next century unless there’s a dramatic breakthrough in engine/airframe design.
You know, Gaunt, I actually think that the driver’s license requirements in this country ought to parallel the pilot’s licenses already… it would weed out a lot of drivers right off the bat.And charge some real $ like they do in Germany, also……The irony is I probably wouldn’t be able to afford the time and money right now myself. But I am so sick of the way things are with drivers these days that I would vote for this stuff in a second even at my own expense.

Awkward. In the 1989 film “Back to the Future, Part 2”, it’s set in 2015 and there’s flying cars. Where are the flying cars if it’s already 2015?!

Car wrecks would be fatal most of the time, after they crashed to the ground.
