Baldo: What if I ditch this whole idea of buying the coolest ragtop impala in the entire world? Baldo: I'll just ask my dad to drive me everywhere. Baldo: It's fun to imagine impossible scenarios every now and then.
Baldos problem is he was born in the wrong generation. When I was his age you could pick up a 63 Impala for a few hundred bucks. My friend bought a 59 Vette for $500 off a car lot.
i had a friend who bought a car for $400.the insurance was more. she had to fix the tail pipe right away and trunk lock, and jam a radio in cause it had been torn out. occasionally the radio would break into static and she would bang on the dashboard furiously to make it stop, which was disconcerting till you got used to it. a tiny hole in the floorboard she had to keep a foot over it to keep out the draft. and the passenger door didn’t work so as the frequent copilot, i had to slide out the drivers side or jump in and out the window like the dukes of hazard. so many good memories
