there are state and federal laws regarding breaks and lunches during an eight hour shift. He could be fined for this.

Gotta agree with Robert Alan Bryan; there’s DEFINITE laws here in Calfornia regarding breaks during 8 hour + shifts !

Airtime VuSo, everyone will be called “an independent contractor” and so not covered by these laws, or, no one will get full hours, but have at least an hour of work “off the clock” and anyone mentioning the word union will be fired immediately without accrued pay. That is the way successful businesses (like newspaper distribution or Wal*Mart) do it..fbjsrIf you can’t take time off without meetings, you aren’t a boss, just a supervisor, a higher paid wage-slave.
