@apikoros, nix on the military. To enlist you must be a HS graduate or have a GED and extra college credits.

I’m guessing he is a dreamer listening to the clock ticking… C&C can’t avoid getting a little political these days.

Many kids faced with consistent failure in school do give up and quit.

Our education system concentrates on the scores students receive on the State achievement exams, and not on the individual student’s needs and abilities.

Cruz is an example of a kid falling between the cracks, with no positive guidance from home or school to succeed. He sees himself as a loser, so why should he bother ?

Kudos to Sr. Cantu y Sr. Castellanos for opening a conversation, and shedding light on an all too common problem, that kids are having in school.

Cruz could probably be trained in some trade, like plumbing or as an electrician. He must have talent in some area. Not all kids should go to college.
