Our Congress could easily advance a bill that allows those 800,000 people to stay here legally. President Obama played a cruel joke on them by allowing them to think he could do it by himself. The President is required by the Constitution to “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed”. Congress needs to do its job.
It’s kind of ironic. People sneak in here illegally because we are a great country, but when our laws conflict with their way of thinking our government is unjust and cruel.
Politics aside, the issue is what to do now. As I see it, there are three groups to address; the parents who KNEW they were breaking the law, the children who are here and just want to live their lives here, and those who want to do the right thing, and need a clear, reasonable course.
The idea that anyone should be able to break the law without consequences is unethical and hypocritical.
The idea that children should be punished for a political stunt is inhumane and appalling.
The idea that we can just keep ignoring the problems of border security and the right way to bring in good people while keeping bad ones out, is so asinine that there are Senators and Congressmen who belong in jail.
The only way to solution, I think, is to step back from name-calling, recognize the valid points on each side, and try to find solutions without putting the ego first.
All you good Christians out there who want these “illegals” thrown out. Just wondering. Did Joseph and Mary get an entry visa from Egypt? And if Egypt threw them the heck out, guess there wouldn’t have been any Christianity since the baby Jesus would have been murdered. Right?
This strip is a good way to bring a serious problem to the forefront. I hope the cartoonist has the boys go over the ways Cruz could apply for citizenship. Maybe his high school could offer afterschool classes on that topic.

DACA was a way to punt so politicians could keep their jobs without having to make tough decisions while pandering to voters.

Well, the fastest way to allay your fears is to return to your home country and come in legally.

I always wonder about the background heritage of the people who speak against others.

Funny that Cruz seemed to be OK and having fun so far in the strip. Now that DACA is in play again, suddenly, he’s in fear. Coincidence? I think not.

I’ve read this for several years, though I don’t really like it. I finally stopped today.
