I usually find that I enjoy the movie better if I see it before I read the book. If I read the book first, I’m usually disappointed in the movie.
The books always have a lot more in them than the movies. Movies would have to be 8 hours long to fit all of the book into it. I read somewhere that a movie is comparable to 35 pages of a book. So a short story.
Consider the 1956 film, “The Ten Commandments”. Better than the book.
Most painful example of an excellent book made into an atrocious movie: Tom Wolfe’s “Bonfire of the Vanities “:
The only time I thought the movie was better than the book was A Clockwork Orange. I think the book is great but the movie is even better.

I prefer to read the book before I see the movie.
It’s going to save her the price of Admission which can then be used to buy another Book.
