Google can’t find that first quote, so I don’t feel bad that it is unfamiliar to me. What I remember is, “There is an exception to every rule, including this one.”

She’s not headed for a “typical” future.

She’s been in first grade for 21 years! I’d say she grown right where she should be.

Gracie’s remark in Panel 1 sounds contradictory (or is that paradoxical?). If there is “no law,” that would mean the law that there is “no law” would not exist, either.

It’s being assumed that Gracie understands those quotes. To understand the first one, for example, you need to know the background and work of John Wheeler.

She is well able to read, but can she understand what she read?
