Baldo is still cooking it and adding seasoning, but Dad’s already eating it? And it looks like he has brownie mix on his spoon. Maybe that’s the secret.
Husband is Italian – second generation. We make his mother’s/grandmother’s tomato “gravy” (never called sauce) for our macaroni (never called pasta, collective name for all shapes is macaroni or macs). I do make more than we need and freeze the leftover as there are just 2 of us.
They never had spaghetti and meatballs as they say it is an American invention. He tells me would plead with his mother to make it for him and she would not. We had same for dinner the other night – Ikea frozen meatballs with spaghetti and frozen tomato gravy.

My grandson would make delicious sauces and rubs for barbeque, and he did it just like Baldo. Who knew?

My wife and my Mother-in-law ( when she was still with us) both cook by smell. Put in ingredients… season until the smell is right. Wonderful results.
