It must be her version of living her life to the fullest, given that she survived the collision which killed her mother. By the way, I especially like the pose in the fourth panel: first thing that comes to mind is, “Hello my baby! Hello my honey!”
I loved going to school (except that I am NOT and have never been a morning person). I even took extra classes during the summer once I was in junior high and in college I went summers and finished in 3 years (started senior year of college at 19) and then went to grad school same way.
I hated summers – nothing to do and the two times they sent me to camp – HORRORS!! Camp was terrible! Mom took us once a week to the library – and they would not let me take out enough books to last the week.
