She’s right; the US hasn’t been the only country to fight against the enemies of “freedom, liberty, and justice para todos”. But when the Russians claim THEY defeated fascism, that is one of their many lies, for all they did was defend Communism and Stalin, making Russia safe for Stalin’s heirs such as Putin.
I pledge allegiance to the citizens of the United States of AmericaRegardless of race, regardless of creedRegardless of sex, regardless of need
I pledge allegiance to the environment of the United States of AmericaAnd to the animals and plants that growTo the air we breathe and the waters that flow
I pledge allegiance to the workers of the United States of AmericaTo a minimum wage that would earn a livingTo protecting their bodies without misgiving
I pledge allegiance to the consumers of the United States of America,To keep corporations from victimizingLet the buyer beware of false advertising
I pledge allegiance to the Constitution of the United States of AmericaAnd to the ideals our forefathers soughtFor which they died, for which they foughtWhen our nation’s pristine and injustices lagWhen we honor these things, we honor our flag
ALL WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES in defense of freedom even when they were denied the right to vote at home. They saw freedom being challenged by fascism and rose to the challenge. May they all be remembered and their sacrifice not be in vain.
Memorial Day, formerly Decoration Day, is to honor the people who gave their lives for this country. I hate to see that purpose usurped…..too bad it as the first comment. Having just arrived in Krakow Poland…. It hits home.
Remember the sacrifice of those who came before, but be sure to heap extra scorn on the Uvalde police department if they try to co-opt the day for themselves.

Was “para todos” a mistake when translating from the Spanish, or was it done intentionally?

Too bad Gracie, an elementary school student, doesn’t have freedom to enjoy her education without fear of mass shooters.
