Pulling the pedal on the chainring side is a challenge. The more you ride the tighter it gets. You don’t own the 2+ foot long pedal wrench the bike shops have so you lean on it hard. When it finally gives, it gives fast; slamming your knuckle right into a tooth on the chainring. I have three scars on my knuckles that I’ve earned this way over the decades.

Lucky for Gracie that they have a freezer on the bottom. My child self had to climb the step stool to reach the top.
