The Bermudez siblings and the Brown siblings. How fitting for Sparky’s would’ve been hundredth birthday.

Another loving tribute to one of the best men and best comic strip artists of our time and this one is easily my third faviorite behind breaking cat news and rosebuds. And given how great this strip is and how simple the concept is, that’s saying something that it’s only third. Man today’s a fun day for the funnies.

Happy Birthday Charles and Sparky.

Fun fact: Charlie Brown and the gang were often shown playing baseball, football and hockey (and Snoopy and Peppermint Patty were both tennis players), but Rerun was the only one who regularly played basketball (he tried, anyway).

I’ll be up in Santa Rosa next week for work. Maybe I’ll stop in and say “Hello” to Sparky and the whole gang!
