Throat punch launch … NOW!!

A couple of weeks ago, Jake was giving 100%. This must be one of his off days.I have a couple of coworkers like this and it’s starting to catch up with them

Time to go to the boss and say, “Jake is slacking off, either he goes or we go. And good luck running this place if we go, because Jake won’t do the work.”

Interestingly enough, Rod is running his business into the ground, like so many OTHER small businessmen, who seem to think that, once he’s got it started, it will run itself – CONSTANT vigilance is needed in any business, which is one reason so many new businesses never become “old” businesses…

Sadly, there are far too many people with Jake’s attitude. Before my retirement, one of my last jobs was overseeing several statewide retail outlets for a major corporation. Unfortunately, one of the first things I had to do was let go of a handful of employees, and three managers who “didn’t feel like it” when it came to doing what was necessary, leaving others to pick up the slack. They were happy to collect their paycheck but unwilling to do the work necessary to earn it.

It wasn’t just the laziness that got them fired, it was the attitude and sense of entitlement that went with it!

Yes, sorry, but I’m getting bored with the “Jake is lazy” strips. Need some kind of new twist to it, at least.

Ahem, Baldo: You need to tell YOURSELF the same when it is time to clean your room or do your homework!

Maybe a little shoe leather applied to the seat of his pants? I would just tell the boss, one of us has to go – him or me, make your choice.
