    Hello again, all!

We’ve been invited to Miriam and Jeffrey’s house tonight….

we could go there to post our comments on

the July 17th  2018 “CLEO and COMPANY”

after we read it on Sherpa

    http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy

The thing is, Miriam said we were “welcome” to come in costume…

she didn’t say we had to, or what sort of costume.

But I’m on my way to talk to them about it…. and this is what I see through the front window.

    I think I won’t knock just yet…..

Shh… I’m backing quietly down the steps.

I do have to go back in a few minutes, cos they’re expecting me…

But it looks to me like bear costumes are serious business in their household…

    Even little Murphy wears one.

At least she didn’t say “we’d like to have you for dinner.”

I don’t trust a houseful of bears who say that.

What say you all…. Jeff and Miri’s or my pie shop?

I mean, as I said, we don’t have to wear costumes there….

    but maybe you’d like to….

or maybe you’d rather skip the whole thing?

You can get pie either way…. I was planning to bring some.

I just need to know where you’d rather go.

Hmmm…. we have chilly nights around here….

    Not flannel weather….

but I am I’m wearing sheepskin slippers right now.

They say “Bearpaw®” …but they don’t look like theirs.

It would be kinda fun if they did.

I know it’s a bit unusual, but I’ll vote for Jeff & Miri’s, if only because Jeffrey is my brother’s name. No, that isn’t him, although now that I look at him a 3rd time ……..

And I applaud Miriam’s efforts to teach Murphy some basic ursine manners.

Back on C&C… Those Howlywood bassets could certainly dance and howl, back in the day.

Above, is that a painting of a flying pig on the wall?

Cleo leaves her ……….. “mark” ……….. on another classic musical! With great hoofing too! (You know how much she loves that!)

    Wow!

I think “Howling in the Rain” is one of the best musicals ever made!

Even when I was a little girl, in spite of my mother’s insistence that Freddy Astairedale was a better dancer,

I was absolutely enthralled with Gene Kellydog.

Wow, what an athletic yet graceful pooch.

He could have taken any more canine-centric agility trials with one paw behind his back….

if he weren’t already busy being a Howlywood dancer and movie star.

And of course, true to her sobriquet, “Good Girl”, Debbie Reyhounds was every young girl’s role model….

though, truth to tell, I secretly longed, with far greater fervor, to be the incredible-looking, whirlwind-dancing Cyd Chienne.

This is another one that humans tried to emulate….

But how could they possibly dance and howl like bassets?

    Just look:

And of course, I still have my beloved souvenir from an earlier revival of this film….

Sold in the lobby, it was a bit pricey.

    But I couldn’t resist, cos I love Gene Kellydog…

and today it’s worth even more, as a collectible.

I LOVE Howling In The Rain!!! Good choice for today…..we’ve got a few sprinkles and lots of thunder rolling through the Rockies right now. I think I’ll go get my raincoat and tap shoes and dance on the deck. What a Glorious feeling!
