Cleo has claimed the moon for Bassetkind! and marked the territory. But hey since when does Cleo raise her leg to pee? Must be part of Bassetronaut training.
49 years ago……hmmmmm……our older daughter was turning three, and we hosted a giant birthday party. We invited the entire NASA film crew to entertain us and present for the entire world to see, the first lunar walk.
Now, we still host a giant party with a granddaughter’s birthday, my birthday, this daughter’s birthday, a daughter-in-law’s birthday, another daughter’s anniversary and a son’s anniversary. I don’t think NASA will be showing up at this party, though. There won’t be room for a TV set!
Thanks for your commemoration, Nighthawks! Love the landing!
And you see those rocket engines? MyMountainMan, the Rocket Scientist was part of the crew that designed them and made sure Neil Smellstrong and crew made it there safely and returned home!

Love the wackiness.

today’s cartoon , as you know, has been run and rerun .
but since today is the 49th anniversary of the moon landing.
it seemed appropriate to run it today.
thanks for stopping by.

Hi margueritem.
Eugene, most successful gardeners use fertilizer at this time, not incense.

Hey, can Cleo bring some heavy weaponry over to Pooch Café? The dogs there are under threat from a giant squirrel.

Marg! Marg! Can you hear me?
So good to see you…. wish you’d stop by more often….
But I see it’s been 10 years for this comment and 3 months since your latest…. sigh….
Oh, and hi everyone else, of course….
Just got a bit distracted seeing my old friend and partner Marg….
In case anyone doesn’t know…. like Marg, if she comes back…..
We visit these 10 year old Ballard St strips to discuss “CLEO and COMPANY.”
Today, we’ll be at Claudia and Eugene’s house, commenting on the July 20th 2018 strip…
Read it on Sherpa:

Nighthawks… we know it’s a rerun….
but it’s fine… this one could even be an annual tradition….
though I dunno how many years of pee that poor landing gear can take.
Eventually, it might crumble from the acidity…. or rebel against the disrespect.
I, too, am surprised to see Cleo lift her leg…. but there are several possibilities.
Just for two…..
First … yeah…. maybe Bassetronauts are trained that way to make escape faster if necessary.
Don’t want to be caught pulling their suits down to squat.
or, second… maybe that’s not Cleo, playing Neil Smellstrong…..
Maybe that’s Neil Smellstrong himself.
Eugene, BTW, has invited us to what he calls the “Festival of the Corn,” which includes his Booster Ceremony….
and also, the Blessing of the Bees, which I was going to skip, until Claudia pointed out that they raise neither corn nor bees.
She’s a bit skeptical, but for Eugene’s sake, she agreed to cook all the corn and bake a chocolate cake.
BTW… MargueriteM is the “other half” of Marg and Susan’s Super Ultra Strength Brain Bleach…
sold at fine merchants in Ballard County and Crustwood Ill..
or piped directly to your home or business, by X_Tech Industries, aka XTI.

Kinda ran out of room there…
but before I go, I want to say…
Hope you’re feeling better, Stel….
Didn’t get back to the comics til way too late to post on yesterday’s.
And Nighthawks… actually, I think what I did last night is the same as when you don’t upload a new strip…
I’d typed it all out, except for what I later added as an “introduction,” of sorts…
and then wandered off without hitting the “submit” button….
which I see is now the “Comment” button.
When I came back it was still just sitting there, like a cartoon you have ready but didn’t submit.

Cleo – The Original Non-Binary Gender Fluid Cartoon Character.
P..S. I’m headed to Idaho for a couple of weeks to feed my whitewater addiction – I’ll see y’all in a few.

Anyways, Nighthawks, your comics are so good, they are well worth watching again and again. This is another favorite of mine.

So Eugene is performing his booster ceremony on the same day that Neil/Cleo performs with his/her booster rocket. How apropos…
