    Hi, everybody!

In case you just got here, especially those who followed x_Tech’s link…. (Thanks, X)

and you don’t know why we’re posting on a ten year old Ballard Street….

That’s how we post our comments, every day on “CLEO and COMPANY”

today, for instance, for the Tuesday, Sept 4th  2018 strip.

Which you can read on Sherpa

    http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy

You’re right, BTW, X… Chet and Stuart (on today’s current Ballard Street) do seem to be birds of a feather.

If they meet… they’ll either be best pals… or hate each other.

    Oooh… pretty, Stel…

And the movie itself is a very interesting fantasy …

featuring a film within the film….

and its handsome leading basset, Jeffy Spaniels, stepping right out of the screen to romance the sweet Mia Fleacollar.

Se isn’t going to bite him… she’s enraptured… with Howlywood, movies, and all the trappings.

This poster originally ran back in mid-2017….

with quotes from the “Cleo crew” at that time….

including Alexikakos, who hasn’t been seen lately…

(and with only one or two glaring omissions…. but we’re not ...sniffle.. here to quibble, are we….)

I looked then and now to see whether the humans had made a version…

    and they did, I think.

I think it’s the same plot, more or less…. but it has a completely different title, as it’s not about a basset, or set in beautiful, scenic Cleveland,

It’s called “The Purple Rose of Cairo,”

and they don’t seem to have a similar poster.

This one must be mostly the creative work of Cleo and Company’s own resident poster artist….

    StelBel! Way to go, Stel!

The human publicity, though, does feature a somewhat copycat scene… but, obviously, lacking the glamor of Mia Fleacollar.

    One interesting side note:

I went back to the comments on the first run of this poster, about 14 months ago, to see whether I’d had better luck finding a human version (no)…

    and I found a comment from Nighthawks…

saying, with what I seem to detect is a fair bit of skepticism,

that he’d just been told that Sherpa would rejoin GoComics “later this year.”

    2017.

I really don’t want to let that make me skeptical of their latest claim.

One more thing…. sorry… my comments are already too long….

    can’t skip it though…

Nighthawks! It’s exciting that you’ll be posting more new work…..

    and YES!!

I was just sure that Sunday’s strip was new, but I didn’t believe it, because you’ve said you wouldn’t do that.

The style is different…. hope you don’t mind my saying it, but

Cleo and Claude are both drawn more and more expressively….

though some past strips, like the Robin Hound series, stand out for their artwork, and I wanted to compare.

I started looking through some, just to prove it to myself…..

but I fell asleep…. and never made it here…

and last night I had another post planned, and couldn’t do it.

Tonight I’m saying too much, but at least I’m awake!

As for my memory “like a steel trap”…. LOL….

a very very rusty one, that works selectively,

catching the tiniest of prey, while the big game gets away without a scratch.

But thanks for the (misplaced) vote of confidence.

Oh…. while I’m here…. GoComics has come up with another “update” I hope is just a glitch.

I’ve been having to do some of my visits here via my android phone and tablet.

A week or so ago, user’s profile pages on mobile devices stopped showing their last ten comments.

I’ve since found that they’re missing, even on a computer, in any window that’s less than full screen.

Comments in the forums show up fine…. but if I want to go to my profile and link to my last ten posts…. I can’t, unless I’m on my computer.

On a little phone, it’s a pain to open the whole “My Comics” page and try to remember where I posted….

and I can’t follow anybody else, or check on the Monkey, etc.

I wrote to GC about it…. a tech sent me a screenshot of a Ziggy strip (!) with comments to “prove” they were visible.

I just wrote again to explain profile pages.

    Fingers crossed.

GoComics announces a new ratings scale (to rival The Washington Post’s Pinocchio scale) – the Cleo “Good Girl!” scale.

Today’s Cleo & Co. poster rates 4 Barks on the Good Girl Scale!

    Arf! Arf! Arf! Arf!

Besides a really paw-fect poster (including purplie eyelids), Stel has reached new heights in cast and crew names! Woody Attaboy! How delightful. You deserve extra kibble tonight, Stel.
