Perhaps he suffers from narcolepsy, and is dozing while standing.

As you advance your ages, Newton’s law become applicable strictly.

Margueritem, that’s why he’s drinking coffee.

Arthritis in one’s opposable thumbs will do that!

Carpal tunnel or tendonitis can do that to you, too, if not treated earlier. Too many “enhancers” in your coffee, too.

Color has come to Ballard Street! JVA doesn’t have the hang of it yet. In a few years, the walls and trim will be brightly colored!

I like Cleo’s intensity in panel 3! Giving it her all!

    Welcome, everybody!

You’ve found the right place…. we’re here tonight to comment on

the BRAND NEW (!) Feb 4th  2019 “CLEO and COMPANY”

    Which you’ll find on Sherpa…

    http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy

    i knew it!

When Cleo said she could get Claude two pieces, I just knew she was going to cut it….

I didn’t foresee the axe, though.

Anyhow, if I were Claude, I certainly wouldn’t ask for two cups of coffee.

For one thing, Cleo’s method doesn’t do the crockery a bit of good.

    Here’s one thing I don’t understand…

Claude immediately says “Only one piece of pie?”

How many does he usually start with?

Some people have a big piece, to start with, and some people have a small piece…. and after that, perhaps another….

but Claude must usually start with two pieces.

    On one plate or two?

Meanwhile…. sigh…. Joel’s problem is all too familiar.

I spent a couple of (long ago) years after wrist surgery (all better now, thanks) dropping things… especially things like coffee cups…

… a tiny handle by which you’re supposed to hold up half a pound of liquid, daintily using your fingertips. Uh huh.

It also occasionally made my hand spasm, thus holding the cup, but essentially throwing the coffee.

That reminds me…. shall we go to the Tiki, today, or my pie shop?

We can have coffee or tea, and some of my pie in either place, since I supply the Tiki.

I promise, I haven’t thrown coffee in a least 20 years… not unintentionally, at least.

(OK, I don’t think I’ve ever done it intentionally. Honest.)

Claude probably wouldn’t mind having two pieces of Cleo right now.

Wow! Cleo sure got some serious hang time with this one today.

I wonder what kind of pie Claude was attempting to eat. Pumpkin? Or, lemon curd? Or quacker oats? Whatever, it looks like our Susan will be right over with a large supply for the Clifford kitchen.

Mondays are fundays with Nighthawks new ’toons!

I don’t think Claude wanted two tables, Cleo.
